Careers at CityScout

Build the intelligence layer for real estate development.

CityScout turns fragmented government records into a clear, connected view of what is being built, where it is happening, and who is involved. Join a remote-first, high-ownership team building the data, software, and commercial systems used to find real opportunities across U.S. markets.

What we build

Zoning cases, permits, parcels, ownership records, planning documents, and project teams all describe parts of the same development. They are usually published by different agencies, in different formats, and without a shared structure.

CityScout brings those records together. Our platform helps businesses understand development activity earlier, identify the people and companies behind each project, and act while opportunities are still forming.

Doing this well requires reliable ingestion, careful data modeling, geospatial systems, AI-assisted classification, thoughtful product design, and close attention to how customers actually make decisions.

How we work

Output over activity

We measure contribution through useful, reliable results. Speed matters. Accuracy, maintainability, and customer impact matter with it.

Own the outcome

Understand the objective, make thoughtful decisions, communicate meaningful risks, and stay with the work through delivery and verification.

Build leverage

Use software, automation, AI, MCP-enabled tools, better data, and reusable processes to increase the quality and reach of your work. Every person remains accountable for the result.

Learn the whole problem

We reward people who understand how their work connects to customers, company priorities, and the systems around it.

The work

At CityScout, individual contributors work close to the product, the data, and the customer. Engineers can move across ingestion, infrastructure, geospatial data, AI systems, and customer-facing applications. Revenue operations and growth team members build the systems that connect market opportunity to repeatable execution. Sales team members develop relationships, travel to meet customers, and convert those systems into revenue and market insight.

There is substantial room to take ownership. The expectation is equally substantial: learn quickly, communicate clearly, and deliver work that holds up in the real world.

CityScout is remote-first. We use clear ownership, documented decisions, focused work, and intentional collaboration to operate effectively across locations. Some roles, especially sales, include substantial travel because important customer relationships are built in person.

Hiring process

Our process is concise and role-specific. Expect an introductory conversation, a realistic practical exercise using the tools you normally use, a walkthrough of your work, and a direct final conversation.

We evaluate the quality of your decisions and output, your understanding of the work, your use of AI, and how clearly you communicate. We aim to move quickly and keep expectations clear throughout the process.
